I paint women’s bodies with raw, minimal gestures to talk about
the grand social experiment that is the female body in society.
The legibility of the figure is not always apparent, as a form
of resistance.

Describing the changes made by time and human intervention,
my “re-constructions” are collages of raw canvas, found objects
and painted shapes.

I choose to abstract as a way to open the door to interpretive leaps
allowing the viewer’s inherent biases to come in. I am celebrating
the aging body, and asking the viewer to question the lack of
older female bodies in public life.
